At The Quiet Program, LLC, we have a true smörgåsbord of experience in the fields of business administration, radio television and film, music and sound production/recording, manufacturing, retailing and of course software design and development.
Our journey started back in the 1980s when we wrote financial analysis software for a large manufacturer of oilfield equipment in Houston, Texas. As time marched on, we wrote the same sort of financial software for a large medical center in northwest Houston as well as providing system support for the hospital's health information system (HIS).
From there we moved on to developing database management software that helps run the data centers for some of the largest corporations on the planet -- the fields here are retailing, government, and industry in general.
So how does all that get to The Quiet Program, LLC of today?
Well, our interest in writing and film production led us down a rabbit hole of discovery. We came upon some excellent (as well as some iffy) hardware and software used to create Indie films as well as record wild audio tracks. Regarding character development, we found some overly simplistic software and then some grotesquely complex software.
And then there is the eye popping cost for the some of this software!
Surely the working playwright, screenwriter, novelist, or sound designer could use better tools!
You may be intrigued by the movie magic that turns screenplays into film. Perhaps it is the craft of the novelist wending their way through plot development that fascinates you. Maybe it is the aura of the theater and the stageplay that draws you to being a playwright.
However you got to the point where you simply must create, the last thing you want is to be slowed down battling your software!
Who wants to lose that magic moment, that click of inspiration, just because your software rears its pedantic head at the worst possible moment?
Whether you're working on the first draft or the final draft of the next great novel, teleplay, stageplay, or just a storyboard you can always be hit with writer's block. But "software block" is just not acceptable!
So we set out to create a bag of truly useful software tools.
Some of the tools we have in mind are ready to go. We encourage you to peruse the website sections Support / Help / User Manuals and the Support / Help / Video Tours and Tutorials for a sampling of these.
Other tools are still in development. These will be tools for writers, sound designers, and for folks who just want to organize their vast collection of digital whatnots.
The journey continues...
You are invited to join us -- wherever it may lead!
